And yes! It was Friday again, and after watching its trailers and songs for last few months, I was quite zipped up to see this movie and so I booked the tickets online (with popcorn and coke of course).
So here I was sitting in the theatre all set to see the latest drama materialized by one Mr. Priyadarshan and his conglomerate.
So, there was Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan who had made one good hit “Hera-Pheri” and hundreds of others trying to replicate it. Few were fine and did make us laugh but this one is a total disaster! (Common, ek film hit hui, to you will make 1 million such)
The movie starts with the introduction of “you know who all” Priyadarshan’s zillion films flop flimsy cast.
A family headed by an old, helpless but scrupulous man with silently crying but never complaining wife (Aruna Irani).Whose entire family is a bunch of debauched yet successful sons/son-in laws.
Then there is our protagonist Akshay, a contractor who despite being true at heart is a looser. And we have Urwashi (flop Naqaab fame, remember Khatroon ka khiladi with Akky) playing the supporting sister who would later become the cause of Akshay's awakening.
Gosh even writing this makes me feel eeeeiw! How can he make that 80s film again! Anyways, continue...
If the plot is worth a TV Episode and it is stretched to a 3 hour film you can imagine how would you feel. Initially we see in the film that Akky tries to be corrupt in his own justifiable way. But fails every time as he is not actually “mean”.Later he realises he can not be currupt and hence decides to fight against it, Yes this is the obvious story which i figured out in 15 minutes. I wanted to get out of the movie but somehow I sat there as there is electricity problem in our country and you can understand the humid and hot weather outside.
The story lamely tries to attack corruption and bureaucracy. (Remember “Jane bhi do yaaaroon”) with Trisha Krishnan (Another import from the south) playing the “ex girl friend now turned municipal commissioner” who adds the misery to Akkys misfortune to both the character and to the movie.
The movie neither compels the audience against corruption nor entertains with the flimsy acts of pathetic comedy by Johny Lever and Rajpal Yadav.
One can only wish to get out of the film as soon as possible as the film crosses all limits of tolerance.
The music is the only good thing in the movie, but that does not mean we need to watch it.
I felt I was watching a flop boring play directed by Priyadarshan whose characters are the same as that of the last play playing similar roles shouting and irritating exactly the same way. My sincere request to Priyadarshan would be to have some self belief and don’t be afraid to use your brain.
I cannot remember the last time I was traumatized to this extent!
Ok I go to a movie hoping that it will be nothing spectacular, but this one - Oh my God!
My rating : 0 star (or even below it)
Coming Next : Udaaan (I have heard some good things about it)
Here I would be writing my own reviews of Hindi/English Movies as and when I watch them.

Preface and Rating System
Hello fellow readers and movie lovers,
For quite some time I was thinking of starting this blog where I can express my feelings about the movies I happen to watch.
Be it Hollywood or Mumbai Film Industry, I wish to pen down all my feelings and acquaintances with the latest releases.
Hindi/Mumbai Movies:
When it comes to Hindi movies, I usually watch all the movies as movie going is a fun activity for me, I don’t watch a movie because I want to watch “that” movie, I watch because I want to watch a “movie”. Therefore, I make the default setting of any movie to be a 2 star, a humdrum, nothing spectacular.
So this is how I rate them (they are not related to any other rating system)
5 Star : "Legendary" Once in a lifetime movie.
4 Star : The super hit of the year.I loved it!
3 Star : Very good movie, watch it.
2 Star : Average movie you can watch them once. Tolerable!(Default Settings)
1 star : Don’t watch unless you have absolutely nothing else to do!
0 Star : I hate this movie, do not watch it. CRAP in one word.
Hollywood movies:
When it comes to a Hollywood flick, I keep my bar raised as compared to their Bollywood counterparts. I would not like to see a Priyadarshan in Hollywood, though there are many crapy ones there as well.I wish to refrain myself from any debate on Hollywood v/s Bollywood. Its purely how I feel and I have reasons for it.
Firstly, I am totally biased for Hindi movies as they are in my native language and secondly I don’t expect our Karan Johars and Rakesh Roshans to make Matrix, Starwars and Titanics.
So for Hollywood they would get only 3 ratings( Default being 3 star)
5 Star: A Matrix/Tom Hanks/Beautiful Mind/Batman/Star wars/LOTR ("Legendary")
4 Star: Awesome, totally loved it must watch
3 Star: (Default) Good direction, good concept, nice movie, somehow average, surely watchable.
Special Case:
0 Star: Don’t watch it, complete disaster!
So, let me begin writing my critique. See if you can concur :)
DISCLAIMER: The ratings and reviews are my personal opinion, I can get as biased/critical/mad as I feel :P its my right of expression and anyone who would differ can write his/her own blog.
